Job Description

The Account Reconciliation Accountant is responsible for ensuring the accuracy and integrity of financial records through the reconciliation of general ledger accounts and sub-ledgers. This role involves identifying discrepancies, investigating variances, and ensuring timely resolution to maintain compliance with internal policies and external regulations.
Key Responsibilities:

Prepare and perform regular reconciliations of balance sheet accounts, including bank, intercompany, accruals, and prepaid accounts.

Investigate and resolve discrepancies and variances identified during reconciliations.

Ensure all reconciliations are completed accurately and in a timely manner according to company policy and regulatory requirements.

Collaborate with other departments to obtain necessary documentation or explanation for reconciling items.

Assist in month-end and year-end close processes.

Document and maintain reconciliation procedures and controls.

Support internal and external audit requirements by providing documentation and explanations as needed.

Suggest and implement process improvements to streamline reconciliation and reporting activities.

Ensure compliance with applicable accounting standards (e.g., IFRS, GAAP) and company policies.

Participate in special projects and ad hoc reporting as requested by management.
