Job Title: Accountant

Job Summary
Responsible for managing financial records, preparing accurate and timely financial reports, and ensuring compliance with accounting principles and regulations.

Job Responsibilities
• Maintain accurate and up-to-date financial records for the bank.
• Record all financial transactions, ensuring completeness and accuracy.
• Reconcile and manage general ledger accounts.
• Ensure adherence to accounting principles and regulatory requirements.
• Assist in the preparation of financial statements and reports.
• Generate periodic financial reports for internal and external stakeholders.
• Contribute to the budgeting and forecasting processes.
• Work closely with the finance team to analyze financial data and provide insights.
• Ensure compliance with accounting standards and regulatory guidelines.
• Collaborate with internal and external auditors during audits.
• Perform regular bank reconciliations to verify accuracy and completeness.
• Investigate and resolve discrepancies promptly.
• Monitor and control expenses, ensuring alignment with budgetary guidelines.
• Analyze variances and recommend corrective actions as necessary.
• Maintain organized and comprehensive financial documentation.
• Implement effective record retention policies.
• Prepare and file tax returns in compliance with local regulations.
• Stay updated on changes in tax laws and ensure adherence to statutory requirements.
• Collaborate with external auditors during the audit process.
• Address audit queries and implement recommendations for process enhancements.

Requirements
• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Economics, or Business Administration.
• Professional certification such as ICAN, ACCA, CIMA, CFA, and ANAN is required.
• Minimum of 8 years of experience in accounting, finance, or audit roles.
• Experience in financial reporting, budgeting, and tax compliance.
• Attention to detail, communication, and time management.
• Proficient in accounting software and Microsoft Excel.
• Analytical and critical thinking skills.
• Excellent communication and presentation skills.
