Job Description
Facility Operations Management:
Supervise and manage the hospital's facility operations, including maintenance, repairs, and general upkeep of all hospital buildings and grounds.
Oversee the proper functioning of critical systems such as HVAC (heating, ventilation, and air conditioning), electrical systems, plumbing, and emergency power supplies.
Ensure that all hospital infrastructure complies with safety and environmental regulations, including building codes, infection control standards, and accessibility requirements.
Maintenance and Repairs:
Develop and implement a preventative maintenance schedule for all hospital systems and equipment to minimize downtime and ensure operational efficiency.
Manage the repair and maintenance of medical equipment, ensuring minimal disruption to hospital operations.
Coordinate with external contractors for specialized repairs and major upgrades.
Safety and Compliance:
Ensure compliance with all relevant regulatory requirements, including OSHA standards, fire safety regulations, and health codes.
Regularly conduct safety inspections and risk assessments of the hospital premises.
Develop and implement emergency response procedures, including fire drills, evacuation plans, and disaster preparedness.
Budgeting and Cost Management:
Develop and manage the facility’s operational budget, ensuring efficient allocation of resources and cost-effective management of utilities and maintenance services.
Track expenditures related to facility management and report on budget variances.
Evaluate and recommend cost-saving measures related to energy use, waste management, and resource optimization.
Staff Supervision and Management:
Supervise and lead a team of maintenance staff, technicians, and contractors.
Provide training, mentoring, and performance evaluations for facility staff to ensure high levels of service and compliance with hospital standards.
Coordinate shift schedules for facility staff to ensure 24/7 operations and emergency response capabilities.
Vendor Management:
Negotiate contracts and manage relationships with external vendors and service providers, including janitorial services, landscaping, security, and waste management.
Ensure vendors meet performance expectations, quality standards, and compliance with hospital policies.
Space Management:
Manage the efficient use of hospital space, including layout planning, room utilization, and workplace safety considerations.
Assist in planning and coordinating hospital expansions, renovations, and new construction projects.
Environmental Sustainability:
Promote sustainability initiatives within the facility, including energy efficiency, water conservation, and waste reduction programs.
Ensure the hospital’s green initiatives align with industry standards and regulatory requirements.
Emergency and Disaster Management:
Develop and maintain emergency preparedness plans for facility-related incidents (e.g., fire, power failure, natural disaster).
Serve as a key point of contact during emergencies and ensure swift and efficient responses to facility-related crises.
Collaboration with Hospital Leadership:
Work closely with hospital administration, medical staff, and department heads to ensure that the facility supports the overall operations and mission of the hospital.
Provide regular reports on facility performance, compliance, and operational challenges to senior leadership
