Electrical Engineer
Job Purpose:
To plan, install, maintain, and supervise electrical systems, equipment, and power distribution networks for mining operations, ensuring safe, efficient, and uninterrupted power supply in compliance with company and statutory regulations.

Duties & Responsibilities:
• Design and implement electrical systems for mining infrastructure, including substations, control panels, and electrical distribution networks.
• Supervise the installation, testing, and commissioning of electrical equipment for plants, crushers, conveyors, pumps, lighting, and mobile machinery.
• Carry out routine inspections, preventive, and corrective maintenance on electrical installations and equipment.
• Troubleshoot and resolve electrical faults, breakdowns, and power supply interruptions promptly.
• Ensure all electrical works comply with safety, environmental, and operational standards.
• Maintain accurate records of electrical systems, drawings, equipment performance data, and maintenance logs.
• Plan and manage electrical spares inventory, procurement, and contractor services as needed.
• Prepare technical reports, maintenance schedules, and project updates for management.
• Conduct risk assessments and participate in safety audits and incident investigations.

Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or related field.
7 years of practical experience in electrical engineering, preferably in mining, heavy industrial, or energy sectors.

Skills & Competencies:
Strong knowledge of industrial and mining electrical systems (HT/LT distribution, substations, switchgear, MCC panels, generators).
Proficiency in electrical design software (e.g., AutoCAD Electrical, EPLAN) and maintenance management systems.
Excellent problem-solving, analytical, and decision-making skills.
Good understanding of safety and regulatory requirements in mining electrical operations.
Strong supervisory, leadership, and organizational abilities.
