Job Description
The Lab Technician Operative is responsible for supporting the technical team in testing, analyzing, and maintaining solar system components to ensure quality control, performance standards, and operational excellence. The role requires strong attention to detail, technical competency in electronics or solar equipment, and a commitment to sustainable energy solutions.
Key Responsibilities
• Conduct functional and performance testing of solar panels, solar boxes and other system components.
• Assist in evaluating returned products and identifying root causes for technical faults.
• Document test results accurately and maintain lab records according to standard procedures.
• Calibrate and maintain laboratory equipment and testing instruments.
• Ensure safety protocols and cleanliness standards are maintained in the lab environment.
• Support operational initiatives by preparing test samples and assembling prototypes where required.
• Generate weekly reports on lab activity and product performance trends.
Qualifications and Experience
• OND/HND/BSc in Electrical/Electronic Engineering, Physics, or related technical discipline.
• 1–2 years of hands-on experience in a laboratory, testing, or technical role (solar/energy industry experience is a plus).
• Familiarity with solar power systems and components (e.g., solar panels).
• Ability to use diagnostic tools, multimeters and other electronic testing equipment.
• Basic knowledge of health and safety protocols in a technical environment.
• Proficient in Microsoft Excel and reporting tools.
• Strong attention to detail, with good communication and documentation skills.
