Job Description
We’re seeking a strategic and results-driven Business Development Manager to lead initiatives that drive growth, strengthen client relationships, and secure major projects in the architecture and engineering sectors. This is a senior role for a proactive leader who can identify new business opportunities, manage complex contracts, and inspire high-performing teams.
Key Responsibilities:
• Business Development & Client Relations
• Identify and develop new business opportunities across Nigeria and Africa.
• Build strong relationships with clients, partners, and government agencies.
• Prepare tailored proposals, EOIs, and RFPs to win high-value contracts.
• Represent AIM Consultants Ltd at industry events and conferences to grow our network.
• Proposal & Tender Management
• Lead the preparation and submission of competitive bids and tenders.
• Coordinate with technical teams to align proposals with client needs.
• Negotiate contracts to secure favorable terms and long-term value.
• Contract & Compliance Oversight
• Manage contract reviews, renewals, and certifications.
• Ensure compliance with regulatory and funding body requirements.
• Liaise with finance and legal teams for smooth project execution.
• Team Leadership & Collaboration
• Lead and mentor the business development team.
• Foster cross-functional collaboration for proposal success and project delivery.
• Strategic Reporting & Planning
• Track and report on KPIs, proposal outcomes, and revenue targets.
• Develop growth strategies aligned with company objectives.
What We’re Looking For:
• Education: Bachelor’s in Engineering or related field (Advanced degrees/certifications a plus).
• Experience: 7–10 years in business development, especially within the engineering consultancy, construction, or infrastructure industry.
• Market Knowledge: Deep understanding of Nigeria’s business environment and project acquisition landscape across Africa.
• Proposal Expertise: Strong experience with EOIs, RFPs, government tenders, and donor-funded projects (World Bank, AfDB, etc.).
• Client Focus: Proven success working with multinational clients and public sector stakeholders.
Skills:
• Excellent communication, leadership, and negotiation skills.
• Strategic thinking with attention to detail.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office and business development tools.
• Certifications: COREN, COMEG, CORBON, or equivalent are highly desirable. HSE certification is a plus.
