Entry-Level Actuarial Assistant

We are seeking a highly motivated Actuarial Assistant on the Associate of the Society of Actuaries (ASA) exam track to support actuarial modeling and reporting efforts for U.S.-based annuity and disability insurance products.
This role demands strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work with Python-based scripts and Excel. The ideal candidate is passionate about data, actuarial science, and using technical tools to support high-quality insurance modeling work.
This position is part of the Actuarial Analytics Division and reports directly to a U.S.-based actuary with global experience. Work will be conducted on-site in Iju-Ishaga or Ikeja, Lagos area.

Key Responsibilities
Assist in actuarial model production, maintenance, and documentation
Run and enhance Python scripts used in valuation and data processing
Prepare, clean, and analyze data using Excel and Python
Contribute to experience studies and internal reports
Maintain high standards of accuracy, confidentiality, and professionalism
Participate in mentorship and training sessions for ongoing development

Qualifications
At least 1 SOA exam passed (Exam P, FM, or beyond)
Proficiency in Python (especially for data handling with pandas, NumPy, etc.)
Strong mathematical/statistical background
Intermediate to advanced Excel skills
Excellent communication and critical thinking skills
Based in Lagos and available to work on-site full-time
