Network engineer

Key Responsibilities:
Design, configure, and deploy LANs, WANs, wireless networks, and other network components.

Monitor and troubleshoot network performance issues, ensuring system availability and reliability.

Install and support network hardware (e.g., routers, switches, firewalls, load balancers).

Implement and manage firewalls, VPNs, and other security solutions.

Work closely with systems engineers, helpdesk staff, and other teams to ensure seamless IT operations.

Perform regular network maintenance and upgrades (patches, firmware, configurations).

Document network configurations, processes, and service records.

Assist in disaster recovery planning and business continuity strategies.

Stay updated with the latest networking technologies and trends.

Requirements:
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field.

3–5 years of proven experience as a Network Engineer or in a similar role.

Strong understanding of network infrastructure and hardware.

Experience with Cisco, Juniper, Fortinet, or similar network systems.

Knowledge of networking protocols (BGP, OSPF, EIGRP, TCP/IP, etc.).

Familiarity with firewalls, VPNs, and network security best practices.

Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.

Preferred Qualifications:
Certifications such as CCNA, CCNP, CompTIA Network+, or JNCIA.

Experience with cloud networking (AWS, Azure, GCP).

Scripting experience (Python, Bash) for network automation.
