Job Description

We are seeking a proactive and versatile Communications Manager to lead and coordinate internal and external communications efforts. This role demands excellent writing, public relations, stakeholder engagement, and project management skills. The ideal candidate must be strategic, media-savvy, and capable of delivering timely messaging during high-stakes situations. Prior experience in an agency setting is a strong advantage.

Responsibilities

• Develop and implement integrated communications strategies aligned with client and company objectives.
• Craft high-quality content including press releases, opinion editorials, speeches, executive messaging, newsletters, and website content.
• Manage media relations – build and sustain strong relationships with journalists, editors, and influencers.
• Support crisis communication planning and reputation risk mitigation.
• Liaise with clients to understand their communications needs and develop tailored strategies.
• Supervise adverts placements across digital, print, and broadcast channels.
• Coordinate and manage PR campaigns, press conferences, and stakeholder engagements.
• Monitor media coverage and prepare reports with actionable insights.
• Collaborate with the digital manager to ensure communications are optimised for digital platforms.
• Manage corporate communications calendar and editorial schedules.

Required Competencies
• Bachelor’s degree in communications, Public Relations, Journalism, or related field.
• Minimum of 4 years’ experience in a communications role; agency experience is a strong advantage.
• Excellent writing, editing, and verbal communication skills.
• Proven experience in crisis management and media engagement.
• Strong organisational and event coordination skills.
• Familiarity with media planning and advertising processes.
• Proficiency in stakeholder and client relationship management.
• Ability to multitask and thrive in a fast-paced environment.
• Professional certifications (e.g., NIPR, CIPR) are a plus.
Salary:
₦300,000.00 Monthly
