Job Description

Job Title: Procurement Officer
Reports To: Head of Facilities & Logistics
Location: Ikeja, Lagos.

Job Objective:
To manage and coordinate the procurement of goods and services in a timely, cost-effective, and efficient manner, while ensuring compliance with company standards and quality requirements. The Procurement Officer will play a critical role in supporting project execution by securing reliable vendors, managing purchase processes, and maintaining accurate procurement records.

Key Responsibilities:
- Source, evaluate, and negotiate with suppliers and vendors to obtain competitive prices and quality materials.
- Prepare and process purchase orders, requisitions, and bid requests in line with project and operational needs.
- Track and manage inventory levels to ensure timely restocking and availability of materials.
- Collaborate with project and site teams to forecast material requirements and avoid shortages or excesses.
- Ensure timely delivery of purchased items and follow up on pending orders and supplier performance.
- Maintain an up-to-date database of suppliers, pricing, and market trends.
- Conduct regular supplier performance evaluations and maintain effective vendor relationships.
- Ensure procurement activities comply with internal controls, quality standards, and industry best practices.
- Prepare and present procurement reports, cost analysis, and budget tracking as required.
- Assist in contract drafting and management for major purchases or services.

Qualifications & Experience:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, Procurement, or a related field.
- Minimum of 2 years of relevant experience in procurement, preferably within construction, retail, or facility -management sectors.
- Good knowledge of procurement procedures, contract negotiation, and vendor management.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (especially Excel); familiarity with procurement software is an added advantage.
- Strong organizational, analytical, and time-management skills.
- Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines.
- Membership or certification with a professional body (e.g., CIPS, NIPSM) is an added advantage.
