Job Description

Our client in the Manufacturing sector seeks to hire for the role of PET Collection Manager.

Job Requirements
HND/BSC in Management, Supply Chain, or related fields
Minimum of 5-7 years of experience in the recycling or waste management industry
Background in Sales, Logistics, Supply Chain, Security, or Warehousing
Proven experience managing suppliers, customers, and distributed teams
Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word, and PowerPoint
Ability to work effectively across informal and professional sectors
Demonstrated ability to innovate and streamline operational processes
Familiarity with community engagement and grassroots mobilization

Job Responsibilities
Build and maintain strong relationships with PET suppliers to ensure a consistent supply of recyclable materials
Travel within and outside Accra to identify new PET sources and support collector development
Lead and manage a distributed team of 7+ across multiple cities, fostering accountability and growth
Supervise 3+ collection centers, optimizing operations and reducing operational costs
Prepare and submit weekly reports on volume collected, cost metrics, and supplier performance
Engage with suppliers, community members, and key stakeholders to increase recycling awareness and collaboration
Innovate new collection strategies and sourcing methods to meet monthly PET collection targets
Streamline the sorting, bailing, tracking, and storage processes to improve efficiency and reduce waste
Ensure timely coordination with suppliers and logistics partners for uninterrupted material flow
Monitor and ensure all collection sites and suppliers adhere to health and safety protocols
Reduce bailing time and operational inefficiencies through continuous improvement initiatives
Maintain accurate and timely data reporting on collection volumes and activities
Drive supplier development, helping at least 10 suppliers scale to a minimum of 50 tonnes/month
Expand sourcing network by securing at least 10% of supply from new suppliers or regions
Increase direct collections from commercial establishments like pubs, restaurants, schools, and events
Participate in and support community-based plastic collection and awareness activities
