A&R Representative

MVG Entertainment is a dynamic and innovative record label based in Lagos, Nigeria, dedicated to discovering, developing, and promoting exceptional musical talent.

Key Responsibilities:

. Talent Scouting: Identify and discover new artists with commercial potential, including singer-songwriters, producers, and other musicians.

. Artist Development: Work closely with artists to develop their sound, style, and brand, ensuring alignment with our label's vision and goals.

. Music Production: Collaborate with artists and producers to create high-quality music, including singles, EPs, and albums.

. Networking: Build and maintain relationships with industry professionals, including producers, DJs, and other A&Rs.

. Market Research: Stay up-to-date with industry trends, consumer preferences, and competitor activity.

. Strategic Planning: Contribute to the label's overall artistic strategy and roster development and dentify potential collaborations and opportunities for artists to expand their reach.

. Release Success: Ensure that at least 75% of releases from signed artists receive positive reviews from music critics and industry professionals.

. Industry Relationships: Foster strong relationships with key industry stakeholders, including promoters, booking agents, and other labels, to facilitate collaborations and opportunities.

. Brand Alignment: Ensure that all signed artists and releases align with our label's brand values and aesthetic, maintaining a consistent and cohesive image.

. Data Analysis: Regularly analyze data on artist performance, including streaming numbers, social media engagement, and sales, to inform A&R decisions and optimize artist development strategies.

. Team Collaboration: Work closely with other departments, including marketing, publicity, and production, to ensure seamless execution of artist releases and promotions.

Requirements:

. Minimum of 1-5 years of proven experience in A&R, music production, or artist management within the Nigerian music industry.

. Proven understanding of the music industry, including trends, genres, and market dynamics.

. Excellent networking skills, with a strong ability to build and maintain relationships with artists, producers, and industry professionals.

. Deep passion for music across various genres, with a particular understanding of contemporary Nigerian sounds (Afrobeats).
