Cashier

We are looking for a friendly and reliable Cashier to join our supermarket team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for handling customer transactions efficiently and accurately while providing excellent customer service at the point of sale. You will be the face of the store, ensuring a smooth, quick, and positive checkout experience for every shopper.

Key Responsibilities:
Greet customers warmly and respond to their questions.

Accurately scan and process purchases using a cash register or POS system.

Accept payments in cash, credit, or debit and issue receipts or change due.

Bag or package items as required.

Ensure pricing is accurate and up to date.

Handle refunds, exchanges, and returns in accordance with store policies.

Maintain cleanliness and order at the checkout area.

Count money in the cash drawer at the beginning and end of shifts.

Follow all cash handling and security procedures.

Support stocking shelves and tidying aisles when checkout lines are slow.

Notify supervisors of any price discrepancies, product issues, or customer concerns.

Uphold store standards of hygiene, safety, and customer service.

Requirements:
Minimum of SSCE/WAEC or equivalent.

Prior experience as a cashier or in customer service (preferred).

Basic math skills and attention to detail.

Ability to operate POS systems and other relevant equipment.

Friendly, patient, and customer-focused attitude.

Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.

Honest, punctual, and reliable.
