Job Description
Department: Medical Oncology
Reports to: Centre Manager/Head of Operations
Job Summary:
We're seeking a skilled Medical Officer (Oncology) to join our team, focusing on quality assurance, clinical protocol development, and multidisciplinary collaboration. The successful candidate will lead quality audits, support staff development, and participate in developing clinical treatment protocols.
Key Responsibilities:
- Contour target organs for radiotherapy treatment and ensure accurate CT simulations
- Conduct follow-up consultations for radiotherapy patients and provide expert care
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to develop and review clinical treatment protocols
- Provide advice on cancer patient management, including radiation therapy and chemotherapy
- Counsel patients and attendants, obtaining informed consent and discussing treatment options
- Participate in departmental meetings, clinical audits, and tumor board meetings
- Support staff development and Continuous Quality Improvement processes
- Contribute to research and development in oncology
Requirements:
- Medical degree (MD or DO) from an accredited institution
- Board certification or eligibility in Medical Oncology or related specialty
- Proven experience in quality assurance, clinical audits, and multidisciplinary collaboration
- Strong understanding of oncology treatment protocols and evidence-based practices
- Excellent communication, leadership, and training skills
