Job Summary
We are seeking a highly analytical and detail-oriented Finance Officer to manage financial planning, reporting, and analysis within our organization. The ideal candidate must be a certified chartered accountant (ICAN or equivalent) with a strong background in accounting, budgeting, and regulatory compliance. This role plays a critical part in ensuring the financial health and integrity of the company.
Key Responsibilities
Prepare accurate financial reports, statements, and forecasts in compliance with relevant accounting standards.
Monitor day-to-day financial operations, including accounts payable/receivable, bank reconciliations, and general ledger entries.
Develop and manage budgets, monitor expenditures, and identify variances.
Ensure tax, pension, and other statutory obligations are correctly calculated, reported, and paid on time.
Assist in the preparation of internal and external audits, ensuring compliance with financial regulations.
Analyze financial data and trends to provide strategic recommendations to management.
Ensure proper documentation and recordkeeping of all financial transactions.
Support financial decision-making by preparing cost-benefit analyses and financial models.
Maintain confidentiality of financial and personnel information.
Requirements
Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
ICAN certification (or other recognized chartered accounting body such as ACCA) is compulsory.
Minimum of 3–5 years’ experience in a finance or accounting role.
Strong knowledge of financial regulations, tax laws, and reporting standards in Nigeria.
Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, Sage, SAP).
Excellent attention to detail, analytical thinking, and organizational skills.
Strong communication skills and ability to work independently or as part of a team.
