Job Description
As an Animal Production Supervisor, you will be responsible for overseeing our animal production operations and ensuring the efficient and profitable production of animals while maintaining the highest standards of animal welfare. You will play a key role in managing the day-to-day operations, implementing best practices, and driving continuous improvement. Your expertise and leadership will contribute to our mission of delivering exceptional animal products to the market.
Manage all aspects of animal production, including feeding, breeding, health management, and facility maintenance.
Develop and implement herd or flock health programs, vaccination schedules, and disease prevention strategies.
Oversee the maintenance and operation of animal housing facilities, ensuring cleanliness, adequate ventilation, and optimal living conditions.
Recruit, train, and supervise animal care staff, providing guidance and fostering a positive work environment.
Maintain accurate records of animal inventories, production yields, health records, breeding and genetic information, and analyze data to optimize production efficiency.
Manage breeding programs, select breeding stock, and coordinate artificial insemination or natural mating.
Ensure compliance with animal welfare regulations, industry standards, and ethical practices, and address any issues related to animal health, behavior, or housing conditions.
Develop and implement feeding programs, working with nutritionists to ensure proper nutrition for different stages of animal growth and production.
Implement quality control measures to ensure consistent product quality and maximize productivity.
Enforce health and safety protocols for animals and staff, promoting a safe work environment.
Monitor market conditions, pricing products, and identify cost-saving measures to optimize financial performance.
Implement sustainable practices, such as waste management and environmental conservation initiatives.
