Experienced A-La-Carte Cook

Job Summary:
We're seeking a skilled and experienced Male A LA CARTE Cook to join our team at Lounge Thirty8 Ltd for gender balance! As an experienced Cook, the A la Carte Cook position is a working hourly position responsible for the proper preparation and execution of protein, vegetable, starches, sauces, stocks, and garnishes for various dishes according to Lounge Thirty8 Ltd standards, maintaining a clean and safe kitchen environment, and working collaboratively with our Kitchen staff, Sous Chef, and Executive Chef.

Lounge Thirty8 Ltd is a Lounge and Quick Service restaurant with our Head Office located at Bode Thomas, Surulere, Lagos, and branches in Iba, Ikeja, Aguda, etc. Candidates residing around these locations and its environs are encouraged to apply.

Responsibilities:
- Properly stocks the station for service, including basic utensils, par stock items, plates, and all food-related items for an efficient service period
- Preps and executes given dishes on prescribed station in a clean and efficient manner
- Maintains station par levels on a daily basis, rotating stock to maintain the freshest available foods
- Cooks all items when ordered in a timely and organized manner
- Present at all times on his/her station during peak service times
- Prepares meats, vegetables, starches, sauces, etc. and accompanying garnishes for all dishes on the station
- Requisitions supplies needed to produce food components properly and efficiently
- Covers, dates, and neatly stores all food components for station
- Sets up, maintains, and breaks down station as prescribed by Executive Chef
- Notifies Executive Chef in advance of all expected shortages
- Ensures workstation and equipment are clean and sanitary throughout the work shift
- Adheres to state and local health and safety regulations
- Maintains the highest Food Quality and sanitary standards
- Makes recommendations for maintenance, repair, and upkeep of the line prep area and equipment
- Closes the kitchen properly using the closing checklist
- Completes other duties as assigned

Requirements:
- Proven experience as a Cook in a similar setting
- Strong cooking skills, with knowledge of various cuisines and techniques
- Ability to cook varieties of local Nigerian dishes (e.g., jollof rice, Special Fried rice, Asun Rice, egusi soup, suya, etc.), continental dishes (e.g., pasta, salads, grilled meats), and most especially specialized in à la carte meals such as platters
- Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment
- Excellent attention to detail and presentation skills
- Team player with good communication skills
