Job Description
Key Responsibilities:
1. Meal Preparation & Cooking
Prepare and cook a variety of dishes according to set recipes and customer specifications.
Ensure meals are prepared in a timely manner during service hours.
Maintain consistency in taste, portioning, and presentation.

2. Kitchen Operations
Oversee kitchen activities to ensure smooth daily operations.
Monitor stock levels of ingredients and kitchen supplies; alert procurement team for replenishment.
Supervise and delegate tasks to junior kitchen staff, cooks, and assistants.

3. Food Quality & Hygiene
Maintain the highest standard of food hygiene and kitchen cleanliness.
Comply with all food safety and health regulations (e.g., HACCP).
Monitor the freshness of ingredients and discard expired or spoiled items.

4. Menu Development
Assist in developing and updating menus based on seasonality, customer feedback, and innovation.
Suggest new recipes or techniques to improve kitchen offerings.

5. Team Management
Provide training and mentorship to kitchen staff.
Foster a culture of teamwork, discipline, and accountability.
Conduct daily briefings or handovers with kitchen team as required.

6. Cost Control
Work with management to minimize food waste and control portion sizes.
Contribute to inventory management and cost-effective purchasing practices.

Requirements:
Proven experience as a Chef or Cook (minimum 3–5 years).
Culinary qualification or equivalent practical experience.
Deep understanding of kitchen operations and food production standards.
Strong knowledge of various cuisines (local, continental, or specialty depending on business focus).
Excellent time management and organizational skills.
Ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced environment.
Strong leadership and communication abilities.
Flexibility to work shifts, weekends, and holidays as required.

Preferred Skills:
Creativity and passion for food
Knowledge of dietary restrictions and food allergies
Familiarity with kitchen software systems

Work Conditions:
Must be physically fit to stand for long hours and perform hands-on kitchen duties.
