Job Description
The Grant Writer will be responsible for researching, identifying, and writing grant proposals to secure funding from foundations, corporations, government agencies, and other funding sources. This role is critical in ensuring the sustainability and growth of the organization’s programs and initiatives. The ideal candidate will possess strong writing skills, attention to detail, and an understanding of fundraising strategies within the nonprofit sector.

Key Responsibilities:
Research & Prospecting:
Identify potential grant opportunities and maintain a database of funding prospects.
Research donor guidelines, eligibility criteria, and funding priorities.

Proposal Writing & Submission:
Write compelling, clear, and persuasive grant proposals and letters of inquiry.
Prepare budgets, narratives, and supporting documentation in line with funder requirements.
Submit grant applications and ensure timely follow-up.

Reporting & Compliance:
Prepare progress reports and ensure compliance with all grant requirements.
Track deadlines for proposals and reporting deliverables.

Collaboration & Coordination:
Work closely with program managers, finance teams, and leadership to gather necessary information.
Maintain communication with funders as needed.

Grant Management:
Update and maintain accurate records of all grants, submissions, and outcomes.
Monitor grant performance metrics and provide regular updates to management.

Qualifications & Skills:
Education: Bachelor’s degree in English, Communications, Nonprofit Management, Public Administration, or related field (Master’s preferred).

Experience:
Minimum 2–3 years of experience in grant writing or fundraising for NGOs/nonprofits.
Proven track record of securing grants from foundations, corporations, and/or government agencies.

Skills:
Exceptional writing, editing, and research skills.
Strong attention to detail and ability to meet deadlines.
Knowledge of grant application processes and donor compliance requirements.
Proficiency in MS Office Suite and donor management software.
