Cashier

We are seeking a friendly and reliable cashier to join our team. The cashier will be responsible for processing customer transactions accurately and efficiently, providing excellent customer service, and maintaining the cleanliness and organization of the checkout area. This role requires attention to detail, basic math skills, and the ability to handle cash and electronic payments responsibly.

Key Responsibilities:
Greet customers in a friendly and professional manner.
Process customer purchases, returns, and exchanges accurately using the POS system.
Accept payments by cash, credit, debit, or electronic methods, ensuring all transactions are correctly recorded.
Issue receipts, refunds, or change due to customers.
Maintain a clean and organized checkout area.
Answer customer inquiries and provide assistance as needed.
Bag, box, or package purchases as required.
Balance the cash register at the beginning and end of each shift, reconciling any discrepancies.
Follow all company policies and procedures regarding cash handling, security, and loss prevention.
Assist with stocking shelves, cleaning, or other store tasks when checkout traffic is low.
Report any issues, errors, or suspicious activity to the supervisor.

Requirements:
Proven experience as a cashier or in customer service.
Basic math skills and ability to handle cash accurately.
Familiarity with POS systems and basic computer knowledge.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
Ability to handle transactions in a fast-paced environment.
High level of honesty, reliability, and professionalism.
Ability to stand for extended periods and work flexible hours, including evenings, weekends, or holidays.

Preferred Qualifications:
Previous experience in retail, hospitality, or a similar environment.
Knowledge of basic bookkeeping or cash handling practices.
