Job Description
1. Government Incentives Expertise:
o Stay updated on all incentives provided by the Federal Government of Nigeria, including but not limited to import duty exemptions, pioneer status incentives, brand fee waivers, NOTAP (National Office for Technology Acquisition and Promotion) registration processes, and export grant commissions.
o Advise the company on the eligibility criteria, application processes, and benefits associated with these incentives.
o Strategize and coordinate efforts to leverage these incentives to optimize the company's operations, reduce costs, and enhance competitiveness.
2. Incentive Application and Management:
o Manage the end-to-end process of applying for and securing government incentives, including preparing documentation, liaising with relevant authorities, and monitoring compliance with approval conditions.
o Track and report on the utilization of incentives, ensuring that the company maximizes the benefits and meets all reporting requirements.
3. Compliance and Regulatory Affairs:
o Ensure compliance with all relevant laws, regulations, and statutory requirements governing the company's operations.
o Proactively identify and address any potential compliance issues or regulatory risks related to import/export activities, tax obligations, corporate governance, and other legal matters.
o Liaise with regulatory authorities, government agencies, and industry bodies to resolve any compliance-related issues and maintain positive relationships.
4. Stakeholder Engagement:
o Cultivate strong relationships with government officials, regulatory bodies, and industry associations to stay informed about policy changes, regulatory developments, and industry trends.
o Represent the company in meetings, forums, and industry events to advocate for its interests and influence policy decisions that impact its business operations.
5. Team Work and Collaboration:
o Be a part of team of corporate affairs professionals, providing guidance, support, and mentorship to ensure effective performance and professional development.
o Collaborate cross-functionally with internal teams, including legal, finance, operations, and procurement, to address statutory issues, leverage incentives, and achieve business objectives
Qualifications and Skills:
• Qualification: Bachelor’s degree in business administration, Management, or Finance or a related field. 5+ Years of experience in corporate affairs, or a related field, with progressively increasing levels of responsibility. Experience in a managerial or leadership role is often required for a senior position
• Industry Knowledge: Familiarity with the industry in which the company operates, as well as an understanding of relevant regulatory frameworks and industry trends.
• Communication Skills: Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to communicate effectively with a variety of stakeholders.
