Job Description

Job Summary:

We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Electronics Assembler / Soldering Technician to join our team. In this role, you will be responsible for assembling, soldering, and testing electronic components and circuit boards according to established procedures and quality standards. Your expertise in soldering techniques and understanding of electronic components will be essential for ensuring the production of our DRONES of high-quality and reliable electronic products.

Responsibilities:

Soldering: Perform precision soldering of through-hole and surface mount components (SMD) on printed circuit boards (PCBs) using soldering irons, hot air rework stations, and other related equipment.
Assembly: Assemble electronic components, wire harnesses, and sub-assemblies according to blueprints, schematics, and written instructions.
Inspection: Inspect completed assemblies and soldered joints for defects, ensuring adherence to quality standards and specifications.
Rework & Repair: Identify and repair soldering defects, such as cold joints, solder bridges, and lifted pads.
Component Identification: Accurately identify electronic components, including resistors, capacitors, diodes, transistors, and integrated circuits, based on their markings and package styles.
Documentation: Maintain accurate records of work performed, including component placement, modifications, and repairs.
Equipment Maintenance: Perform routine maintenance and calibration of soldering equipment and other tools.
Problem Solving: Troubleshoot assembly and soldering issues and propose solutions to improve efficiency and quality.
Inventory Management: Assist with maintaining adequate inventory of components and soldering supplies.
Safety Compliance: Adhere to all safety regulations and procedures to ensure a safe working environment.
Continuous Improvement: Contribute to process improvement initiatives to enhance efficiency, quality, and reduce waste.
Reading and Interpreting: Ability to understand and interpret datasheets, schematics, and assembly drawings.
Qualifications:

Experience: Minimum of 2 years of experience in electronics assembly and soldering, preferably in a manufacturing environment.
Soldering Skills: Proven proficiency in soldering through-hole and surface mount components (SMD) with excellent soldering joints.
Technical Knowledge: Solid understanding of electronic components, circuit board construction, and basic electronic principles.
Hand-Eye Coordination: Excellent hand-eye coordination and dexterity for working with small components.
Attention to Detail: Exceptional attention to detail and ability to maintain a high level of accuracy.
Problem-Solving Skills: Strong problem-solving skills and ability to troubleshoot technical issues.
Education: MINIMUM OF SECONDARY SCHOOL CERTIFICATE
Physical Requirements: Ability to sit or stand for extended periods, and perform repetitive tasks.
Communication Skills: Ability to communicate effectively in English, both verbally and in writing.
