Job Description

Job Summary:

The Customer Care/Cashier is responsible for providing exceptional customer service while accurately processing sales transactions. This role requires a friendly and efficient individual who can handle cash, answer customer inquiries, and resolve issues in a timely and professional manner. The ideal candidate will be a team player with strong communication skills and a commitment to ensuring customer satisfaction.

Responsibilities:

Customer Service:
Greet customers warmly and provide a positive shopping experience.
Answer customer inquiries regarding products, services, and store policies.
Resolve customer complaints and issues effectively and efficiently.
Provide product recommendations and assist customers in making informed purchasing decisions.
Handle returns, exchanges, and refunds according to company policy.
Maintain a clean and organized customer service area.
Stay up-to-date on product knowledge and promotions.
Build and maintain positive relationships with customers.
Direct customers to appropriate departments or personnel as needed.
Provide information on store hours, locations, and contact details.

Cashier Duties:
Accurately process sales transactions using a cash register or point-of-sale (POS) system.
Handle cash, credit, and debit card payments with accuracy and efficiency.
Issue receipts and provide correct change to customers.
Balance cash drawer at the beginning and end of each shift.
Process returns and exchanges accurately.
Handle gift card and loyalty program transactions.
Prevent and detect fraudulent activities.
Maintain a clean and organized checkout area.
Bag or package customer purchases.
Scan items accurately and efficiently.
Handle coupons and discounts.

General Responsibilities:
Adhere to all company policies and procedures.
Maintain a professional appearance and demeanor.
Work effectively as part of a team.
Assist with store opening and closing procedures.
Perform other duties as assigned by management.

Qualifications:
BSc in business, accounting, banking and finance or equivalent
Previous experience in customer service or cashier roles preferred.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Strong customer service orientation.
Ability to handle cash and operate a POS system accurately.
Basic math skills.
Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
Ability to stand for extended periods.
