Salary: ₦300,000 - ₦400,000 monthly (negotiable based on experience and qualifications)
Job Overview:
We are seeking a detail-oriented and analytical Cost Estimator/Pricing Analyst to join our wood joinery factory in Lagos. The ideal candidate will be responsible for providing accurate cost estimates for wood products, ensuring that all components—such as raw materials, labor, and overhead—are correctly calculated. This position plays a crucial role in maintaining profitability and competitiveness in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
Key Responsibilities:
Cost Estimation:
Prepare precise cost estimates for joinery products, factoring in raw materials (wood, hardware, finishes), labor, and machine time.
Collaborate with the production team to fully understand manufacturing processes and related cost implications.
Generate detailed cost breakdowns for customized orders, including bespoke cabinetry, doors, and furniture.
Pricing Strategy:
Develop and implement effective pricing strategies that align with market trends and business objectives.
Work closely with the sales and management teams to determine competitive and accurate pricing for products.
Regularly update pricing models in response to fluctuations in material and production costs.
Material Management:
Liaise with the procurement team to ensure accurate and up-to-date material pricing.
Track changes in raw material costs and adjust estimates accordingly.
Project & Financial Reporting:
Provide regular reports comparing actual cost performance to estimates.
Support senior management with data-driven analysis to inform project-related decisions.
Qualifications:
Education: A Bachelor’s degree in Quantity Surveying, Accounting, Finance, Engineering, or a related field.
Experience: Prior experience in cost estimation or pricing, preferably within the woodworking or manufacturing industry.
Skills:
Strong understanding of joinery materials, fabrication processes, and production workflows.
Excellent communication skills for effective interaction with suppliers, clients, and internal teams.
Strong attention to detail and accuracy, with excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.
Ability to handle multiple projects and meet tight deadlines.
Well-organized with strong time management skills.
