Job Description

The Accountant is tasked with maintaining accurate financial records, ensuring the smooth processing of payments, and supporting the financial integrity of the company. This role involves managing day-to-day financial transactions, documentation, and compliance with statutory requirements.

Key Responsibilities and Day-to-Day Activities:
1. Financial Record-Keeping:
Maintain accurate records of all financial transactions, including supplier payments and cash handling at branches.
Tracks records of all products at arrival after purchase.
Track records during movement of products within branches.
Weekly/Monthly bank reconciliation.
Collaborate with regional coordinators during audits

2. Budget Management:
Assist in preparing annual budgets and periodic forecasts.
Monitor expenditure and report variances.

3. Reporting:
Prepare financial reports for the CFO, General Manager, and top management on a daily, weekly, and monthly basis.
Internal Controls:
Implement and monitor internal control procedures to prevent fraud and ensure regulatory compliance.
Supervise and ensure effective Cash Handling.
Supervise cash management at the branch level, ensuring that all transactions are documented and reconciled daily.

Qualifications and Experience:
HND/Bsc/Msc degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
Minimum of 5 years experience in a financial administrative role.
Strong knowledge of Nigerian financial regulations and accounting principles.
Excellent organizational and attention-to-detail skills.
Proficiency with financial software and record-keeping systems.
