Job Description
Key Responsibilities:
• Review and interpret physician prescriptions for accuracy and appropriateness.
• Dispense prescription and over-the-counter medications to patients.
• Provide counseling on drug use, dosage, interactions, and side effects.
• Monitor patient medication therapies and advise on dosage changes when necessary.
• Ensure the proper storage, handling, and disposal of pharmaceutical products.
• Maintain records of patient prescriptions, inventory, and controlled substances.
• Supervise and mentor pharmacy technicians and support staff.
• Ensure compliance with regulatory and ethical standards of pharmacy practice.
• Collaborate with physicians and other healthcare professionals on treatment plans.
• Stay updated on new drugs, therapies, and industry regulations.
Qualifications and Requirements:
• Bachelor of Pharmacy (B.Pharm) or Doctor of Pharmacy (PharmD) degree.
• Current license to practice from the Pharmacists Council of Nigeria (PCN).
• Minimum of 1–3 years of experience in a clinical or retail pharmacy setting.
• Strong communication and customer service skills.
• Detail-oriented with a strong sense of accountability and ethical judgment.
• Proficient in using pharmacy management software is an added advantage.
