Job Description
Location: Lagos
Employment Type: Full-time
EISS is seeking a commercially aware and detail-driven Legal Officer with experience in a consulting environment. The role requires strong capabilities in legal research, compliance, contract management, and corporate governance support. You will provide day-to-day legal guidance across various departments, ensuring the company’s operations and client engagements are aligned with applicable laws and best practices.
Key Responsibilities:
Review, draft, and manage client-facing and internal contracts, including NDAs, MOUs, and service agreements.
Provide legal support on consulting projects, especially those involving regulatory frameworks and employment laws.
Ensure compliance with corporate governance, labor, data protection, and IP laws.
Conduct legal due diligence and risk assessments on business initiatives and partnerships.
Support dispute resolution processes including documentation and liaison with external counsel.
Maintain statutory registers and manage legal documentation for business continuity.
Monitor changes in legislation and provide periodic legal updates and advice.
Collaborate with the Consultant Legal Officer in developing internal policies and training on legal compliance.
Required Qualifications & Experience:
Bachelor’s degree in Law (LLB) and a valid BL from the Nigerian Law School.
2–4 years of experience in a law firm or consulting firm with a focus on corporate/commercial law.
Proven experience advising business clients in a structured consulting environment.
Strong drafting and contract negotiation skills.
Familiarity with employment law, IP, and regulatory requirements.
Excellent communication, analytical, and organizational skills.
