Job Description

Key Responsibilities:
1. Financial Record-Keeping
Maintain accurate records of all financial transactions.

Post journal entries and reconcile ledgers.

Track income, expenses, assets, liabilities, and equity.

2. Budgeting and Forecasting
Assist in the preparation of annual budgets and financial forecasts.

Monitor departmental spending to ensure alignment with budgets.

Identify and report variances between actual and budgeted performance.

3. Financial Reporting
Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements.

Generate reports such as P&L statements, balance sheets, and cash flow reports.

Present financial information to management for decision-making.

4. Accounts Payable and Receivable
Manage supplier invoices and payments.

Ensure timely billing and collection from customers and guests.

Reconcile accounts payable and receivable ledgers.

5. Payroll Management
Process payroll accurately and on time.

Ensure proper deductions and tax filings.

Maintain payroll records in compliance with local regulations.

6. Banking and Cash Management
Monitor bank accounts and cash flow positions.

Reconcile bank statements monthly.

Manage petty cash and prepare cash flow forecasts.

7. Audit and Compliance
Coordinate internal and external audits.

Ensure compliance with tax laws, hotel policies, and financial regulations.

Maintain proper documentation for audit trails.

8. Inventory and Asset Management
Monitor and reconcile stock and inventory records.

Record asset purchases, disposals, and depreciation schedules.

Ensure accurate valuation of inventory and fixed assets.

9. Internal Controls and Procedures
Implement and monitor internal control systems.

Review financial processes to ensure accuracy and efficiency.

Identify risks and suggest improvements.

10. Collaboration and Support
Liaise with department heads to provide financial insights and support.

Assist the finance manager or GM in strategic planning.

Support procurement and cost control efforts.
