Job Description
1. Sales and Business Development
Product Promotion: Actively promoting the brewery's products (beer, craft beverages, etc.) to potential customers, such as bars, restaurants, grocery stores, and distributors.
Generating Leads: Identifying new business opportunities by prospecting new clients, developing partnerships, and targeting potential accounts.
Achieving Sales Targets: Meeting or exceeding assigned sales quotas by consistently driving sales volume.
Market Expansion: Exploring and entering new geographic markets, increasing the brewery’s footprint.
2. Client Relationship Management
Building Relationships: Establishing and nurturing long-term relationships with key clients, including bar owners, retailers, and restaurant managers.
Customer Service: Addressing customer inquiries, complaints, and ensuring high levels of satisfaction with the products.
Regular Check-ins: Conducting regular visits and meetings with current clients to ensure continued business and to introduce new products.
3. Product Knowledge and Training
Product Expertise: Maintaining in-depth knowledge of the brewery's products, including new launches, seasonal offerings, and special editions.
Educating Clients: Educating clients on the features, benefits, and pairing options of the brewery’s products, helping them make informed decisions.
Tasting Events: Organizing product tastings and events to promote the products to customers and help increase product visibility.
4. Order Management
Order Fulfillment: Processing orders from clients and ensuring timely deliveries by working with the logistics team.
Inventory Management: Monitoring stock levels with clients, ensuring that they have enough product to meet demand, and arranging for replenishment as needed.
5. Market Research and Feedback
Analyzing Market Trends: Tracking market trends and competitor activities to understand consumer behavior and identify new sales opportunities.
Gathering Feedback: Collecting feedback from customers regarding product quality, preferences, and any potential improvements to pass along to the brewery’s management.
6. Reporting and Administrative Tasks
Sales Reporting: Preparing and submitting regular sales reports, tracking progress towards sales goals, and reporting on market activity.
CRM Usage: Utilizing Customer Relationship Management (CRM) software to maintain customer profiles, track communications, and monitor sales activities.
Administering Contracts: Reviewing and processing contracts, payment terms, and ensuring that all transactions are compliant with brewery policies.
7. Collaborating with Internal Teams
Marketing and Promotions: Collaborating with the marketing team to align promotional strategies, offers, and events with customer needs.
Logistics Coordination: Coordinating with the logistics and distribution teams to ensure timely product delivery and customer satisfaction.
8. Compliance and Regulations
Legal Compliance: Ensuring all sales practices comply with alcohol-related regulations, health and safety standards, and local laws.
Responsible Selling: Promoting responsible drinking habits and ensuring that customers adhere to legal requirements in selling alcohol.
In essence, a sales representative in a brewery acts as the bridge between the brewery and its customers, working to drive sales while maintaining strong customer relations and staying knowledgeable about the industry and products.
