Job Description (Summary)
As the Mechanical, Electrical, and Plumbing (MEP) Engineer, you will oversee mechanical, electrical, and plumbing engineering aspects, ensuring projects are executed with meticulous attention to detail, strict adherence to quality standards, and on-time and within-budget delivery.
This role covers a broad spectrum of responsibilities, including the interpretation of construction drawings, compliance enforcement, material quality control, process monitoring, and driving value engineering initiatives.
Experience with water treatment plants, sewage treatment plants, power distribution systems, transformers, gas-powered systems, and low-voltage services is advantageous. The engineer will collaborate closely with contractors, vendors, consultants, and other stakeholders to ensure seamless project handover to the facility management team, minimizing post-handover issues.
The ability to recover troubled projects, troubleshoot, problem-solve, work effectively in teams, and demonstrate strong IT skills and communication is paramount in this site-based role.
Key Responsibilities:
Engineering Oversight:
Oversee mechanical, electrical, and plumbing engineering aspects of large-scale construction projects, ensuring alignment with quality, schedule, and budget targets.
Manage diverse engineering components, including water treatment plants, sewage treatment plants, power distribution systems, transformers, gas-powered systems, and low voltage services.
Quality Assurance and Compliance:
Interpret construction drawings and enforce compliance with engineering specifications and quality standards.
Implement material quality control and process monitoring measures to ensure project integrity.
Value Engineering:
Lead value engineering initiatives to optimize project efficiency, resource utilization, and cost-effectiveness.
Contract Management:
Drive contractors to meet work program deadlines, monitoring progress, and ensuring adherence to project milestones.
Material Inspection:
Conduct thorough inspections of materials, verifying their quality and suitability for engineering components.
Troubleshooting and Recovery:
Apply problem-solving skills to identify and address issues on troubled projects, implementing effective recovery strategies.
Collaboration and Communication:
Collaborate with contractors, vendors, consultants, and cross-functional teams, maintaining clear communication for successful project outcomes.
Handover to Facility Management:
Ensure smooth project handover to the facility management team, minimizing post-handover challenges for seamless facility operation.
Problem Solving:
Employ critical thinking to troubleshoot challenges and devise innovative solutions for unforeseen issues.
Teamwork:
Work effectively within multidisciplinary teams, collaborating with engineers, project managers, and other professionals

Required Qualifications & Experience
Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering, Electrical Engineering, Plumbing Engineering, or related field (master’s preferred).
Minimum of 8 -15 years of experience in construction, focusing on managing MEP engineering aspects on large-scale projects.
Membership and certification in professional bodies such as NSE, COREN
Diverse project experience across residential, commercial, retail, hospitality, and multi-story developments.
Proficiency in interpreting construction drawings and enforcing compliance.
Experience with water treatment plants, sewage treatment plants, power distribution systems, transformers, gas-powered systems, and low-voltage services is advantageous.
Strong IT skills, including proficiency in relevant software and tools.
Exceptional communication skills, both written and verbal.
Proficiency in problem-solving and troubleshooting.
Ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams, contractors, vendors, and consultants.
