Job Description

Key Responsibilities:
o Prepare accurate quantity takeoffs for construction projects based on drawings, specifications, and site visits.
o Utilize quantity surveying software and tools.
o Review and verify the accuracy of quantity calculations.
o Develop detailed cost estimates for construction projects, including materials, labor, equipment, and overhead costs.
o Analyze and evaluate tender documents and bids.
o Prepare cost reports and forecasts.
o Manage and administer construction contracts, ensuring compliance with contract terms and conditions.
o Prepare and review variations and claims.
o Resolve quantity-related disputes and claims.
o Monitor and control project costs throughout the construction process.
o Identify cost-saving opportunities and implement cost-reduction measures.
o Prepare progress payments and final accounts.
o Provide value engineering and value management advice to optimize project costs.
o Identify alternative materials, methods, or designs to achieve cost savings without compromising quality.
o Assess and manage quantity-related risks on construction projects.
o Develop risk mitigation strategies and contingency plans.

Qualifications and Experience:
• Bachelor's degree in Quantity Surveying or a related field.
• Minimum 8 years of experience in quantity surveying.
• Professional membership in a relevant quantity surveying organization (e.g. NIQS)
• Strong knowledge of construction industry practices and standards.
• Proficiency in quantity surveying software and tools.
