Job Description

Job Requirements
HND/B.Sc. Degree in Mathematics, Statistics, or a closely related field.

Minimum of 2 years of experience in educational or academic publishing, particularly in mathematics content.

Strong command of mathematical language, logic, symbols, and notational conventions.

Expertise in editing mathematics manuscripts, textbooks, or instructional materials.

Detail-oriented with a strong commitment to mathematical accuracy and clarity.

Experience working with typesetting tools or math-editing software

Ability to explain complex mathematical concepts in simple, clear language.

Familiarity with curriculum standards and mathematics pedagogy.

Excellent proofreading and organizational skills.

Key Responsibilities
Edit and proofread mathematics content including equations, examples, word problems, and instructional text.

Ensure mathematical accuracy, consistency in notation, and logical flow of solutions.

Collaborate with authors and subject matter experts to review and refine mathematical content.

Check answers, derivations, and problem-solving steps for correctness and clarity.

Provide recommendations for improving instructional design and learner engagement in math materials.

Manage simultaneous editing projects with attention to deadlines and production quality.

Coordinate typesetting, layout, and formatting of mathematical content with the production team.

Participate in the preparation of print quotations and oversee production workflow.

Handle reprints, title updates, and UBEC file management for mathematics publications.

Stay updated on best practices in math education, curriculum changes, and assessment trends.
