Job Description

Job Title: Inventory Coordinator
Reports To: Chief Financial Officer (CFO)
Supervises: Inventory Officers in Various States
Location: [Lagos], with regular travel across state locations
Job Type: Full Time

Job Purpose:
The Inventory Coordinator is responsible for the overall supervision, coordination, and monitoring of inventory activities across all company locations nationwide. This role ensures effective inventory management, consistency in reporting, and operational efficiency. The Inventory Coordinator will provide regular inventory reports and insights for management and board-level decisions.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Inventory Oversight & Supervision:
Supervise Inventory Officers across all state locations, ensuring compliance with company inventory policies and procedures.
Monitor inventory levels to prevent stockouts, overstocking, or product expiration.
Coordinate stock movements between warehouses and facilities nationwide.
Conduct regular field visits to audit and verify physical inventory across state warehouses.
2. Inventory Control & Accuracy:
Ensure the integrity and accuracy of inventory systems (manual and ERP-based).
Implement and enforce standardized inventory procedures.
Review and reconcile stock variances reported from different locations.
Oversee periodic cycle counts and annual physical stock counts.
3. Reporting & Analytics:
Prepare weekly, monthly, and quarterly inventory reports for management.
Generate board-level inventory reports highlighting key metrics (stock aging, stock movement trends, shrinkage, etc.).
Analyze inventory turnover ratios and suggest optimization strategies.
Provide timely reports to support procurement, finance, and audit functions.
4. Compliance & Risk Management:
Ensure all inventory practices comply with internal control policies and external regulatory requirements.
Identify inventory risks (theft, obsolescence, etc.) and recommend mitigation measures.
Collaborate with auditors (internal and external) during inventory audits.
5. Communication & Coordination:
Serve as the central point of contact for all inventory-related communications between state warehouses and Head Office.
Coordinate with procurement, finance, logistics, and operations departments to ensure inventory alignment.
Provide training and mentoring to Inventory Officers to improve skill levels and performance.
