Job Description
Preparation & Baking
Prepare and bake a variety of breads, pastries, cakes, cookies, muffins, and other baked goods.
Follow standard recipes and develop new ones when required.
Ensure consistency in taste, texture, and appearance of all baked items.
Adjust baking times and temperatures based on recipe and oven performance.
Inventory & Ingredients Management
Measure and mix ingredients accurately according to recipes.
Monitor inventory of baking ingredients and supplies; report low stock or reorder levels.
Ensure proper storage of ingredients and finished products (e.g. temperature control, labeling).
Quality Control
Inspect finished products for quality, presentation, and freshness.
Discard or repurpose products that don’t meet quality standards.
Ensure products meet customer specifications for special orders or dietary needs.
Cleanliness & Food Safety
Maintain cleanliness and organization of the baking station, utensils, and equipment.
Adhere to food safety standards, including proper hygiene, labeling, and expiration tracking.
Sanitize workstations regularly and comply with local health regulations.
Production Scheduling
Plan daily production based on café demand, special orders, and seasonality.
Coordinate with kitchen or pastry team to ensure timely delivery of baked goods.
Innovation & Menu Development
Assist in developing new bakery items and seasonal specials.
Stay updated with current baking trends and techniques.
