Job Description

Account Officer for an advisory business wanted.

The individual will be responsible for accurately posting accounting entries into the company’s accounting system, ensuring compliance with accounting standards and internal policies. This role is essential in maintaining the integrity of financial records and supporting the overall financial operations of the company.

Key Responsibilities:
• Post daily financial transactions, including journal entries, invoices, and payments, into the accounting system.
• Ensure proper documentation and approval for all accounting entries.
• Reconcile accounts, ensuring that balances match the corresponding documentation and that discrepancies are promptly identified and corrected.
• Assist in the preparation of financial reports, including month-end and year-end closing processes.
• Monitor accounts payable and accounts receivable to ensure accurate postings and that all transactions are recorded in a timely manner.
• Review and verify financial data for accuracy before posting entries.
• Assist in internal and external audits by providing requested financial data and documentation.
• Maintain and update general ledger accounts to reflect accurate financial information.
• Coordinate with other departments to resolve discrepancies and clarify transaction details.
• Ensure compliance with applicable accounting standards, company policies, and local regulations.
• Perform other accounting-related duties as assigned.

Qualifications:
• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
• Proven experience in accounting or bookkeeping (2+ years preferred).
• Proficient in accounting software and Microsoft Excel.
• Familiarity with accounting principles and practices (e.g., GAAP, IFRS).
• Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
• Ability to work independently and manage time effectively.
• Excellent communication and organizational skills.
• Analytical mindset with the ability to identify and solve problems.

Skills & Competencies:
• Knowledge of accounting systems (e.g., SAP, QuickBooks, Oracle, Excel).
• Strong understanding of financial transactions, journal entries, and general ledger processes.
• Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive financial data.
