Cashier

JOB DESCRIPTION

* Greet customers and assist them with their purchases in a friendly and efficient manner.
* Operate the cash register and process customer payments (cash, credit/debit cards, or mobile payments).
* Scan items and ensure accurate pricing and product information.
* Issue receipts, refunds, and exchanges, following company policies.
* Maintain a clean and organized checkout area.
* Count and balance cash drawers at the beginning and end of each shift.
* Assist customers with inquiries about products, store promotions, or services.
* Ensure all items are bagged properly and provide necessary information about products or services.
* Monitor inventory levels and report stock shortages or issues to management.
* Adhere to all store policies, procedures, and security protocols.
* Process returns and exchanges, handling customer concerns or complaints appropriately.
* Collaborate with other team members to ensure smooth store operations.

REQUIREMENT
* High school diploma or equivalent; additional education or training in customer service is a plus.
* Proven experience as a cashier or in a customer-facing role.
* Basic math skills and ability to handle cash transactions.
* Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
* Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and remain calm under pressure.
* Proficiency in using cash registers, point-of-sale (POS) systems, and payment processing software.
* Detail-oriented with a high level of accuracy in handling transactions.
* Availability to work flexible hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
